 So i'm back at it and doing some campaign work under the supervision of the wonderful Stuff Advertising... the client is Miss Millies chicken - a local, family run business... i wonder if they'd consider a newer logo...

testing, testing 1 2 1 2... Well after a "summer" away from the studies & computers, i am back... i have been sketching - trying to improve the way i see & think about an image...

i thought i'd start the computerised business with an iphone based exercise - i wonder how much blogger compresses it... The image has been made to iphone 3gs specs & looks good as my wallpaper - feel free to use it yourself

 Whoa, how long have i been gone, blogger looks... most odd!

so slow progress but i'm still sketching whilst learning & trying to retain Ps tutorials.
Here's a 'clip' from my 1st finished piece, ready for printers...

 After a couple of weeks of messing around & tutorials i think i've got a concept for my 'series' of prints, the fact it was one of my 1st thoughts (on a journey in) is nether here nor there...

It will still involve photography - landscapes, illustrations - characters & seamless blending of the whole into well composed group of images (well thats the plan anyways).

 at the moment i have less time than ever it seems, but i have stuck with the figurative & portrait type sketches, i liked this one so decided to have a go at altering it digitally (using tips learnt recently)... i think my next tutorial will be a self written 1 showing how i "improve" things...

i have been playing with this image over the last couple of days, in-between regular shizzle & the "digi_img" stuff i've been working on. One of those keep going back to things...

 more work on the principals from yesterday, a much more experimental approach was taken & a 'drawing' technique i forget/ignore - you can do as much with an eraser as you can with a pencil, even more so with Ps...

Also emphasise scale, i try & play by the rules to often...

 another tutorial, kinda followed... this is more about concept for a final piece... detailed 'landscape' is where i think i'm heading. Need to work on the blending/separating of area's to further engage viewer.

   a really interesting tutorial from 'computer arts' magazine - i can now use liquid filters effectively & learnt a few tips with brushes... also some really subtle light/glow fx...
 i had finished last night but couldn't post as my brain had given up the ability to use blogger...

  a nice little tutorial from digital arts magazine... its taught me a couple of things - use light in harmonious tones throughout to create a sense of unity between random images, create groups in Ps to maintain order & i need to build a massive library of 'stock' - exciting summer of experimental 'art' (mess) for me...


also i think i'm on the right track as this 'thumbnail' does it no justice!

 this next brief is 'digital imagery' so i'm going to basics on the research & we have to make a log of tutorials... i've waited for what seems like an age to do some of these.
 This 1 is a lighting fx, from the nice people at Digital arts magazine, i'm afraid i dont do stock imagery so it's from my own stock, & i pick n choose the bits i want to try & remember so it looks different from the magazine. Big thanks to Blatzer & Sunira for the brushes...

 i had a good think about the next brief & it has to be my favourite so far... it also means i can research contemporary digital artist, i've spoken to some lovely ones today.

 it felt great to be able to draw without feeling guilty about the work i've digressed from....

i can't stop thinking about the 'title' given in the brief and how they are too linked to be separated...
